Recently on the radio I heard a story about a little girl and her dad that were trapped in their home during an earthquake. As the building crumbled around them, the dad covered his daughter to protect her. Unfortunately the dad died in the rubble but the little girl was saved. Everyday I'm sure she must think of the sacrifice that her father made and is thankful for the gift of life he gave her.
As we gather around the Thanksgiving table today, let's remember someone else who gave his life 2000 years ago that we could also have the gift of life. The Bible says "The wages of sin is death but the GIFT of GOD is eternal life". The fact about a GIFT is that it must be received. If you haven't received the GIFT why not make this a really special Thanksgiving and accept the GIFT that was given for ALL MANKIND.
