Description

I love apple turnovers. It’s like having a slice of apple pie all wrapped up in its own package. Delicious! When I was a child one of my favorite things was the apple turnovers you could buy in the dairy case and I could assemble and bake them myself. I thought how easy those would be to make from scratch, well almost from scratch. I did do a little cheat and used crescent rolls that I had on hand. With just a very few ingredients you can make these for breakfast, an afternoon snack or for something different for dessert. This recipe makes four turnovers.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon apple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 package crescent rolls
  • Glaze:
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup powered sugar
