Description

Having a nice and healthy dinner at home is always the best thing, if you prepare it yourself it is even better. One of the easiest and quickest meals to prepare is a pasta dish, and what better than the classic Pasta con Salsa di Pomodoro? (pasta with tomato sauce). Historically, tomatoes were not introduced in Europe before the sixteenth century, and much later the tomato sauce became one of the most used ingredient for meals of the Mediterranean countries and especially in south of Italy. Today the tomato sauce has many variations and it is used in many delicious dishes from the most simple to the more elaborate ones. The following recipe of tomato sauce is typical of the Italian southern region of Puglia. However, even if most luckily the people of this Italian region make their own tomato sauce, for practical reasons we will use a canned crashed tomatoes or pure tomatoes (not tomatoes sauce). Make sure that the canned tomatoes are imported from Italy, this is very important if you do not make your own sauce.
