Had a kale salad from local grocery store..going to remake it (better - NO sugar!). I think kale, red onion, some roasted red pepper with a bit of mayonnaise blended with some fresh basil, bit of diced garlic.
Have a lot of kale from your garden this year? Try deribbing large kale leaves, breaking into small pieces, brush with olive oil, season with pepper and garlic powder, then bake until dry (but not browned). Kale chips are nummy!
We finally have tiny green bell and red peppers but the bugs are after them. Fortunately, many pepper blossums, so hoping we will end up with some! Our hubbard squash is making a real effort, zucchini's are finally full of blossums, as are the tomatoes esp. our heirloom brandywine.
We are having the worst luck this year with growing cucumbers! Argh! On the other hand, tomatoes are flowering up nicely, our arugula is out of control but delicious, and our strawberries are starting to produce...so sweet and good.
Oooo...the Italian-Herb Rub Smoked Ribs recipe looks awesome..just the kind of ingredients we like. Will be trying this sometime this Summer and writing a review!
My arugula has world domination plans, harvested a bit of baby romaine this eve, first of this year. Celery is growing nicely - my first time trying this. I wish my eggplants would hustle up..lol.
