Put a large skillet over a medium-high flame and heat the oil. Add the meat to the pan and break it up with a wooden spoon until all the meat is browned. About 5-7 minutes.
Add in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about one minute.
Add the wine to the pan and cook for one minute. Make sure you scrape up any brown bits that have stuck to the bottom of the pan.
Add in the passata, salt and basil. Rinse the passata jar with 1/2 cup of water and add it to skillet. Bring the sauce to a boil and lower the flame to a simmer.
Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes
