Berries Mascarpone Stuffed Italian Toast

Description

Sumptuous Strawberries, Mascarpone Creme with lemon zest in a lovely stuffed breakfast toast. A gorgeous way to start your holiday morning... or any morning!! Wait, a refreshing change for dinner too!!

Ingredients

 

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 lb. mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 to a 1/2 cup of confectioner's sugar
  • zest of 1 medium lemon
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries hulled, rinsed and sliced
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 Tblsp butter
  • Garnish with - a drizzle of quality balsamic vinegar plus a dusting of powdered sugar
  • Prep & Cook Time: 25 minutes

Additional Tips

Feel free to try this with classic italian bread cutting into 4 inch sized little loaves. Then slice each little loaf almost in 1/2 horizontally- being sure to NOT cut all the way though, leaving each sliced hinged. Proceed with recipe from step 2.
