I chose to live in the countryside and to buy an old "Casale" which had to be completely restored. It was 1967, the year following the flood in Florence.

The works to restore the Casale were long: I spent them partly in Italy and partly abroad after I graduated in Cultural Anthropology in 1969.
The years I spent with my family in Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil, Jordan... and neighboring countries, have enriched my experience. Many art crafts still present in my house are reminders of those countries, all of which I appreciated for their originality.... but even bigger was the enrichment that I received from the friendships that were born with the people I have come known in those years, in those places.

In 1980 I started teaching in the most famous Hotel and Catering School in Florence. I taught Italian and History, but I also shared with my colleagues many fascinating experiences connected with hotel reception and tourism.

When I retired in January 2004, I opened a Bed & Breakfast… and I have been enjoying it since then.
